Oracle Infrastructure Consultant

Description: They are focused on providing support, hosting and project services to organisations using Oracle’s E-Business Suite, Oracle Applications Cloud and Oracle technology.

We are looking for an Oracle Infrastructure Consultant to join the clients Delivery team, within the Infrastructure capability, delivering against the clients Managed Service engagements, but will also include delivering some project work and support of internal systems. The role will be home-based and will involve occasional client site travel, as well as occasional travel for internal meetings.

Minimum Years Experience: 5 Years

5 Key Skills Required:

– High level of competence with the Linux operating system to deliver general support, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance tuning and systems stewardship including systems architecture.
– Solid understanding of networking principles, e.g., CIDRs, firewalls, VPNs. The role is not for a networking engineer per se, yet solid networking knowledge is a fundamental requirement.
– Previous experience of Virtualisation technologies (KVM, Oracle VM).
– Other tools of relevance include Groundwork (Nagios-based Monitoring tool), RedHat IPA, Bacula (backups & methodologies).
– Windows systems administration and any technical skills within the Microsoft product set, e.g., inTune, O365, Defender, would be beneficial.

5 Areas of Responsibility:

– Successfully liaise with customers to deliver solutions to issues and new requirements.
– Drive forward the Infrastructure team.
– Linux systems administration, installation, patching and upgrading.
– Support the provision of Information Security Management Systems (ISO27001).
– Presentations & pre-sales support.
